Criminal Law

Simon Crosfield & Co is a thriving criminal law practice and has been designated a Category One Practice by the Community Legal Service. We advise and represent our clients in respect of a range of allegations from minor infringements to serious offences, providing representation at the police station, Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court and Court of Appeal.

Our solicitors serve on both the court and police station duty schemes.

You may be eligible for legal aid and we can discuss this together with applications for legal funding with you. Where funding assistance is not available, we offer competitive rates.

Police Station – Regardless of the allegation or your personal circumstances, advice and assistance whilst you are at the police station is free, unless certain limited exceptions apply.

It is important to ask for a solicitor as soon as you are detained at the police station or attending voluntarily. You are likely to be interviewed under Caution and this will be recorded – these interviews are evidence which can be used against you. What happens at the police station can materially affect what happens later if you are charged and your matter goes to court.

Magistrates Court – If you are charged by the police or you have to attend having received a Summons in the post, contact us without delay. We will discuss your eligibility for legal funding and advise what you should do next.

Subject to funding being available, we can represent you at court. We will go through the prosecution evidence with you, liaise with prosecution if applicable and mitigate on your behalf.

Whether you have been charged with a road traffic offence and require help to adequately put your case to the court, or have been accused of some wrongdoing by police or other enforcement authority. We are here to help you.

Please call us on 01765 69 22 77 and we will be happy to assist.
